Digital Photography
Join us and explore the world of digital photography! Anyone
interested in digital photography will benefit from this course – whether they
already have a digital, or are considering moving from film.
Digital Photography
provides an introduction to the fascinating technology that is now the standard
in the 21st century photographic world. We'll discuss the basics of
photography, digital photography equipment, common problems, software, the "digital
darkroom", and the many ways to display your work. You'll learn what you
can do, what you need and how much you can expect to invest. Whether you're new
to photography or just new to digital photography, this class will provide an
introduction to new opportunities for putting digital photography to use.
This course will be conducted by Shane Baker, who will guide
you through your lessons, facilitate discussions, help solve your problems, and
answer your questions.
Beginners and existing film photographers will learn the
technology behind digital, how to choose a digital camera and equipment, and how
to take great digital shots – and make them better in your "digital
darkroom".
We will be experimenting with the various options and
settings provided by digital cameras – helping you move from automatic so
you're in control.
Both the possibilities and limitations of digital
photography will be examined. It will be necessary for you to have access to a
digital camera, and you will need a USB memory stick to save your work.
Note: A basic understanding
of computers is required.
NB: Participants will need a thumb drive, access to a camera
and basic computer skills.
