French for Beginners



Course Description
-
Course participants will learn basic greetings, how to describe themselves and others, common verbs and questions words along with relevant cultural information concerning the major French-speaking countries ie France, Canada, Belgium and Switzerland. They will also learn how to count, the days of the week and the months of the year. Listening, speaking, reading and writing skills will all be developed through the use of modern and engaging course materials, multimedia and fun classroom activities.

Instructor

Martin Callaghan holds a Bachelor of Arts (Advanced French) from the University of NSW along with a Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary) from the Australian Catholic University and has taught foreign languages and Commerce/Business Studies in both the ACT and NSW secondary school systems. In addition, he has passed level 2 of the "Diplome d'Etudes en Langue Francaise" (DELF) of the Alliance Francaise and been awarded a Catholic Education Office (CEO) Teaching Scholarship by the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn.
