Silverworking (Jewellery Making)

This beginning class teaches the basic techniques of Safety (handling pickle solution, eye protection, buffing, and handling the torch), sawing (how to replace blades and sizes of blades for silver), soldering (the do's & don'ts, different ways to solder and types of solder), forging and cabochon setting with a strong emphasis on properly finishing the jewellery pieces as well as Tools and their proper use.

Students will only do one mandatory piece and their remaining work will incorporate the personal design ideas of the student where possible. Silver and other supplies will be available from the instructors.

Advanced students are welcome.
